Lies of P director Jiwon Choi openly responded to comparisons of his game with legendary FromSoftware projects, including Bloodborne. He noted that it is not only an honour for the team but also an additional motivation to develop the franchise.

Here's What We Know

Lies of P is a souls-like game released in 2023 and set in a fantasy Victorian world. Even at the announcement stage, many players noted similarities with FromSoftware's Bloodborne: both games have eerie aesthetics and complex mechanics.

Although comparisons with Bloodborne have become less frequent since the release of Lies of P, the game continues to be compared to the best FromSoftware titles. Director Jiwon Choi emphasised that such analogies are not only an honour for Neowiz and Round8, but also an additional motivation.

"Firstly, it's an honour for us, because we have a lot of respect for these games," said Choi. "Secondly, it motivates us to work even harder, because such comparisons create expectations among our fans.

The first major expansion for Lies of P, Overture, is expected to be released in the summer of 2024. At the same time, the studio is already working on the game's sequel.

Overture will bring new difficulty settings to the game. They will make the game more accessible to a wider range of players. The standard difficulty level will now be called "Legendary Hunter".
